TPRP: Toilet Paper Roll Postcard

I have always loved mail! Getting mail, sending mail.  They are little pieces of love in the mail.  There is nothing like opening up your mailbox to find a postcard or hand written note.  Along with snail mail I also love re-purposing and am always looking for another project.  My most recent is Toilet Paper Roll Postcards!  Everyone Poops (If you haven't read the book check it out) and I hope we all use toilet paper.  I found myself at the end of another roll and was feeling a little artsy!

These are all the supplies you'll need; some end rolls of toilet paper, scissors, markers/pens, paint, paint brush, newspaper, stamps and the address of someone who needs a little love in the mail.

First I cut each end roll in half.  The qualifications by the United States Postal Service for the size of a postcard is that is must be rectangular, and be at least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inch thick greater than 4-1/4 inches high x 6 inches long x 0.016 inches thick.

Feel free to use either toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls.  Cut the paper towel rolls either in thirds or in half depending on how big you want your postcards.

The best type of paint to cover the cardboard is acrylic, but depending on the look you want you could experiment with different mediums.  Possibly watercolor or just markers.

After the paint dried, I drew little pictures and wrote quotes on them.

This is the finished project!

And off they go!!!
(A little love in the mail from me to you)
